Dear Editor,
This letter is addressed to the woman that so brazenly walked onto my back porch Tuesday morning at 11 am and stole my girlfriend’s purse off the boot rack at my back door, as well as her male accomplice who was waiting in the alley.
I certainly hope the $10 you found in that purse was worth the risk. Not only did you ruin our day, but your little adventure will cost us about $200 in fees to replace her drivers license, social insurance card and birth certificate, not to mention all other pieces of I.D and personal items that you stole. The fact that you were trying to use her credit card within 20 minutes of stealing it testifies to the sort of pathetic low life's that you have become. I'm sure your parents and other family members would be so proud of you.
If anybody living in the Woodland Grocery area finds a khaki colored knapsack style purse, forms of I.D, pictures of children, or any items that you would normally expect to find in a woman's purse in your back yard or garbage cans, could you please call me at 250-417-9810. Thank-you.
I know it's unlikely that the two individuals that committed this crime will read this, just as I'm sure it's unlikely that they will ever become contributing, decent human beings instead of the dirt bags that they are now, but miracles happen.
Let this be a reminder to ourselves. Not even in our own homes in the middle of the day are we safe from this kind of thievery. My girlfriends purse wasn't left in an unlocked car. It wasn't sitting in an unattended grocery cart. It was in a porch, in a private home in a gated yard in the middle of the day. Pay attention to the people you see walking up and down your alley. They may be paying special attention to you and your belongings.
I would like to thank Constable Fortier of the Cranbrook RC.M.P for his immediate help and assistance in this matter.
P.S. If you two do happen to read this letter, know this. I have seen you before. I recognize you. I will know who you are the next time I see you and that the police are already involved and only a phone call away.
