QUESTION OF THE WEEK

Local News
Kimberley Haiti relief fund

Kimberley citizens continue to respond to the needs of Haitians, trying to recover after the January 12 earthquake.

Two Kimberley women, Kirstin Johnstone and Rebecca Neilsen, have decided they have to do something and are planning a fund raiser for later this month, likely at Centennial Hall.

The event will include a silent auction, spaghetti dinner and raffle draw, along with musical entertainment.

All money collected through the fund raiser will be sent to the Canadian Red Cross.

In addition, they have started a bank account at Kootenay Savings Credit Union (Kimberley Haiti Fund Masterplan 1319987) for any who wants to donate.

To help out with the fundraiser itself, perhaps to offer you services or donate a quality item for the silent auction call Kirstin at 250-432-5174 or Rebecca at 1-403-715-8127.

Volunteers are also required for the fundraiser.

If you are able to help in any way, give Kirstin or Rebecca a call, or stop by Kootenay Savings to make a donation.
