Our Winter Olympic athletes have shown they are true winners long before the Olympics opened. On Sunday, Chandra Crawford and Sarah Renner raced for Canada at Canmore in the 1.4 kilometre classic sprint cross-country race. Both Chandra and Sarah have won medals in previous Winter Olympics.
On Sunday Sarah won a bronze medal and Chandra (coming back from injuries) placed 24th. After the medal presentation Sarah donated her $5,000 prize for third place to the international humanitarian organization, Right to Play. Chandra donated $1,000 of her own money to Right to Play. Right to Play helps children all over the world to participate in sports no matter what their social status.
Chandra and Sarah are not only world-class athletes but most important WORLD CLASS CITIZENS.
