The City of Kimberley, Mayor and Council have selected a candidate to fill the position of Chief Administrative Officer. The position has been vacant since the retirement of Mike Dodd at the end of 2009.
Al Mulholland, most recently of the Sunshine Coast, has been chosen as the new administrator.
Mulholland has worked in both the public and private sector with a background in executive administrative marketing and business planning. He was a deputy minister in Saskatchewan, working on legislative policy to promote and stimulate economic development. He also worked for the B.C’s government Ministry of Finance.
For the past 10 years, Mr. Mulholland has been the Executive Director of Community Futures, Sunshine Coast.
Councillor Brent Bush, who sat on the selection committee, said a number of candidates were considered.
“By far Mr. Mulholland was the best candidate of them all.”
Mr. Mulholland will begin work at City Hall on April 6, 2010.
