Macdonald to meet Minister to discuss deer

It may have no immediate effect but Columbia River Revelstoke MLA Norm Macdonald will be meeting with the Minister of Environment Barry Penner to discuss the urban deer issue.

“It is a provincial issue and something the Ministry has to address,” Macdonald said of the increasing urban deer population in many communities. “It’s not something you can keep pushing aside. Sooner or later you have to deal with it.”

Macdonald says it is unlikely that his conversation will result in much immediate action but it does keep the issue in the Minister’s mind.

“It just pushes it down the line, but that can be useful,” Macdonald said.
