Re: Water Meters: What's next folks?
A lot of our freedoms, even God-given rights, are sure getting taken away. Mostly it's in the name of "protecting you, the public." It's bad enough we have to face yearly rate increases, extra taxes - and wages don't keep up. What's next? Everyone wear a meter while outside to breathe oxygen? How about "they the public" must be certified to use toilets. Just think of it! More dollars for government - they could create a six month mandatory program to study it all.
Let's go to the water issue. Yes it's true. Less snowpack equals less water. Maybe the rains will come.
Rather than water meters, why not have a second smaller back-up reservoir. Every year when Joseph Creek is running high - even by our current big reservoir - the creek there (Gold Creek) much of the water gets to bypass it. (I'm talking while run off occurs in spring)
Secondly, whose the biggest water user? My husband and I have witnessed times even during while raining out some city, even school yard big sprinklers still on and throwing may unnecessary tones of volumes of water way out onto the grass. Those sprinklers that spray it with a heavy stream and the water gets shot out some what forty or fifty feet or so. I say no to water meters for now.
