The flowing of the green in Mark Creek

A number of citizens were quite alarmed Wednesday when they noticed that the clear waters of Mark Creek had a distinctly green tinge to them.

However, not to worry says City Manger of Operations Mike Fox.

"We were tracing a storm drain because we had water showing up in a basement," Fox said. "We use a food grade dye to test and make sure it's running the way it should be, which it was."

The dye was introduced at the Kimberley Creek storm drain which exits near BJ's Restaurant.

The City did receive a number of calls about the dye, Fox said.

"We too received a number of calls from concerned people," said Helen Sander of the Mark Creek Recovery Program. "It's great to see that the community is looking out for Mark Creek"
