Kimberley seeks grant for interface work

Kimberley City Council has authorized the Fire Chief to seek a $400,000 grant for hand work in the Nature Park, as part of the City's interface fire work.

This is a grant from the Job Opportunities Fund which provides employment for out of work forestry workers.

The added bonus to this grant is that the City does not have to supply any matching funds - not often the case with provincial or federal grants. The hope is that this grant will be approved as a previous grant application to the UBCM was turned down as that program was out of funds.
