It was a great weekend for ski racing at the Kimberley Alpine Resort on February 12 and 13, as 48 athletes from 12 nations assembled at the Kimberley Alpine Resort. Condiitons were grey and cloudy Saturday, but the snow held off until racing was finished. Sunday was sunny and a beautiful day on the ski hill.
Of course Kimberley residents were most interested in how local representation would do and the answer was - very well indeed. Paralympic silver medalist Josh Dueck won silver in the Downhill, and Sean Rose who lives part time in Kimberley, though he races for Great Britain won a gold.
This was also the inaugural event for the new Athlete Training Centre, which received positive reviews. Full race results are available at kimberleyalpine.com
