Ladies golf report

Kimberley Ladies Golf Club has had a marvelous July. The ladies have been coming out regardless of holidays and families coming in and out. It has been great.

July 5 - conveners Sylvia McIntosh and Hazel Smith played a game of citrus ball. Winners: Chris Smith, Hazel Smith, Gerry Montgomery, Hannah MacDonald, Donna Sellan, Susan Ostercampf, Sylvia McIntosh and June Bottesi.

Deuce: Karen Proudfoot. Nancy Fraser and Lisa Sharpe convened July 12 with a game of hidden holes for the pin round. Winners: Sylvia McIntosh, Elaine Dereniwsky, Ellen Phelps, Bev Chlopan, Lorna Willey, Nancy Fraser, JoAnn Allen, Sharon Carson Bell, and Annette Macdonald. 15th hole won by Sylvia McIntosh, Laura Millard, and Bev McCormick. July 19 - Sharon Carson Bell and Arden Holmes were conveners for a game of tombstone. Winners to bring in their flag were Flora McLean, Judy Caron, Jacqui Nesbitt, Deb McLean, Brenda Roberts, June Bottesi, Esther Jacobson, Sue Osterkampf and Sandy Wilson.

Deuce: Bev McCormick. Hats off to Nancy Fraser who got an eagle on # 9. Congrats!

And last but not least, our "Golf fore the Cure" on July 26th was a great success. The amount of money raised through pledges was $2,601. and the assistant pro Shawn raised $96. by driving off the first T for all the ladies for a small remuneration. Lorna Willey won a gift for the most pledges and Maureen Price for the most amount of money pledged by an individual. Babes of the beach sponsored by Corona was the most amount of times a team was in the bunkers. The team of Carol McCrady, Corrinne Gilchrist, Marge Biggs, and Chris Smith were the winners. Each person won an ice bucket, beach bag and towel, as well as a banner and tiara. Closest to the line on # 8 sponsored by Subaru - Jeanette Lavoie who won a Subaroo (ladies) tool kit. Closest to the pin on # 15 - Nancy Fraser. Team with the lowest net score in a game of screwball was:Bev McCormick, Gail Ogilvie, Hazel Smith, Lorna Willey;

Most putts by an individual and apparantly the most honest was Betty McNish.Least amount of putts was June Bottesi.

Sponsored by Investers Group was a lug duffle bag won by Susan Osterkampf and a thermal bottle won by Judy Caron. A lovely lunch was served by Kayla and her crew to finish off the day. A big thank you to the sponsors and participants of Golf fore the Cure...you are what makes the tourney work.
